How we hire

We generally hire 1 or 2 new team members every year, but don't often publish vacancies on our website. When we hire, we consult our close network and look at all open applications received in the past months.

Some caveats

We don't do fully remote positions; We don't use any recruitement platforms or services; And we only accept applications from the European Union.

Who we are looking for

Our team

Our team consists of engineers who enjoy very low level stuff, people who can take on a 'consultant role' comfortably, and people who combine deep technical knowledge with project management skills. The common denominator: they're all very good at what they do, in their own way.

We seek individuals who share our love for software engineering, who value proactive collaboration and are good at it, who bring diversity, and who approach work with a positive can-do attitude.

Location

New colleagues must be willing and able to work from our office in Nijmegen, The Netherlands at least 2 days a week.

Tweede golf in a nutshell

At Tweede golf we build software for web, systems and embedded platforms, in Rust. Our engineers are Rust experts, and as a company we're deeply involved in the Rust ecosystem, e.g. co-organizing the yearly RustWeek conference.

While we don't consider Rust a silver bullit, we do advocate for the use of modern memory safe technology and for broader adoption of Rust in particular.

We're a privately held company managed by its owners, located in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. From there we serve clients globally, ranging from the Dutch Electoral Council to well-known corporates like Microsoft.

In 2024 we founded the non-profit Trifecta Tech Foundation, because we believe that open source software built and maintained with public money should live in a non-profit home.

Software must become safer.

Software has been built badly for the past decades, and our industry is spending most of its time patching the leaks.

Our lives have become highly digitalized and we depend heavily on digital infrastructures; on a daily basis we are faced with the consequences of unsafe software and poorly protected data. It is time to make software safer.

At Tweede golf, we believe that the design of safe and secure software is the responsibility of all software builders; freelancers, agencies and big tech. Safety, security, and reliability thus become the domain of softw are makers, not just that of pen testers and consultants.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure - even more so in software.
